Sobre la Maison
Years later, during the first decade of the 20th century, with the development of aristocratic residencies inspired by neoclassic French models, the city flourished as several urban areas morphed into what later came to be known as the "elegant city", with the upsurge of architectural development which characterized the first century of the city.
The unparallel economic strength of the country´s 1880´s generation felt the need
for a representative image that would break with the Spanish colonial heritage.
It was with this spirit that several areas around Buenos Aires were constructed with striking similarity to Paris. Examples of this are the surroundings
of Retiro Station
, as well as Quintana and Alvear Avenues in the neighborhood of Recoleta, which successfully dissuaded viewers of the colonial influence by Franciscan monks settled there as from the beginning of the 18th century.

with three floors added to its ground floor and located at the corner of the block.
